ANXIETY: OUR ENEMY
In
educational establishments, these issues are not discussed as deeply as they
should be, given the numbers in our country, and an opportunity is wasted to
provide students with the help they might need.
The stress
caused by the school load is a taboo subject and is interpreted in most cases
as the student's lack of interest in their academic performance, when in fact
it could be a factor that could have a negative impact on the student's health.
The Chilean student is overloaded by the number of evaluations whose purpose is
to satisfy the need for standardized data on student performance, according to
Eurydice.

Schools,
high schools, subsidized establishments, etc., should represent a suitable and
healthy environment for students since they spend at least half the day in the
establishment. Today's students live in a constant state of stress and pressure
as a result of the full school day (JEC) where anxiety levels rise that often
lead to depression and different disorders, but the problem is that the State
does not take clear and quick actions in the face of this. We have, for
example, the National Mental Health Plan which, despite addressing various
national contingency issues in terms of mental health such as regulation of
human rights, financing, quality management, among various things, does not
mention school mental health in any way. teenagers. The plans and programs
related to mental health must be updated and must be coherently articulated
with the needs of today's adolescents.
That is why
there must be a unique opportunity to impart knowledge about health, promote
healthy lifestyles and, especially, strengthen psychosocial and physical
development for this population group.
I'm so happy that you are writing about this, because yes. Anxiety is soooo important, and the system we live in always tries to ignore it. The good thing is that today this thing in our system is changing, and is known that Anxiety must be treated
